New Moroso spark plug indexing tool. This tool is used to identify the location of the electrode on the spark plug once installed.
For maximum performance and fuel burn, you want all the electrodes to face the same direction and point towards the exhaust valve.
Having the electrode opening point towards the exhaust valve typically gives optimum burn.
Having the electrode opening point too much towards the intake valve can cause the spark to be blown out, even more so on turbocharged and supercharged applications.
Once you determine the location of the electrode, you can then figure out which thickness indexing shim is required to index the plug properly.
Indexing shims are sold separately, and are available in both tapered seat and flat style in varying thicknesses. This listing is for the tool only.
